RARE BIRDS
10/5/20011 min read

At the same time as an Olive-backed Pipit appeared in the centre of Fedje, Hordaland, on 5 October 2001, another bird turned up in a garden on the island’s eastern side. Both individuals are suspected to belong to the subspecies yunnanensis, which, among other features, shows an unstreaked rump. The bird shown here represents the seventh county record. By the end of 2001, Norway had a total of 39 records of the species.
