Late European Bee-eater lingered in Øygarden

A European Bee-eater showed up in Tælavåg in mid October and stayed until the 23rd. The records was a big deal statistically: there had only been six approved records of European Bee-eaters in Hordaland before, and this was one of very few late autumn records. Even more remarkable, the bird was a juvenile, which had never been officially recorded in Norway before. There were about 230 records of European Bee-eaters in Norway up to 2020. Most of them have been seen in May or June, making an October sighting especially unusual.
