Variation in four different adult male Red-throated Pipit Anthus cervinus chest spotting, Vardø 3 June 2005. Upper left picture show a more than average spotted bird, while lower right is in the opposite part of the range.

I was invited to assist professor Göran Högstedt in field data collection to his studies on Red-throated Pipits in the most northeastern part of Norway - Vardø. The aim of the trip was to trap territorial male birds and ring them individually. The birds would be followed up by Göran later the same season.
